CFRP lightweight train CETROVO

CG Rail engineers have developed the world’s first lightweight metro train called CETROVO

It consists almost entirely of CFRP components. The services from Saxony are integrated into the overall “Next Generation Metro Train” project of the world’s largest rail vehicle manufacturer CRRC.

CG Rail has realized the essential modules for the new Metro generation using fiber composite materials: the front cab, car body, underfloor panelling and bogie frame.

The CFRP content is over 70 percent. The innovative lightweight construction concept enables mass reductions of more than 30 percent compared with a comparable metal design and contributes to resource-efficient and high-performance public transport.
