Lightweight front cabin

The structurally relevant front cabin for rail vehicles is characterized in particular by the following features:

  • Innovative lightweight design with ultra-large CFRP structures
  • Reduced number of individual parts with simultaneous high functional integration
  • modern cabin design with complete separation between cabin and car body without continuous subframe
  • Mass reduction of over 30 percent compared to metal construction

A mockup of the CFRP front cabin can be seen in the permanent exhibition “Rail Transport” of the Dresden Transport Museum as an exhibit for the “Train of the Future”.
