Intelligent lightweight construction allows both energy efficiency and sustainability of means of transport to be significantly improved. Lower masses lead to reduced driving resistances such as acceleration resistance, line resistance or rolling resistance in rail vehicles and thus to lower energy requirements.

The reduced use of materials through lightweight construction also results in significantly improved resource efficiency. Lightweight construction is thus a key technology for the energy- and resource-efficient mobility of the future.

Our excellent know-how and extensive experience in lightweight design form the basis for the development of intelligent, cost-efficient lightweight solutions for our customers. During development, we use various lightweight design strategies such as conditional, material and shape lightweight design to achieve the highest possible degree of lightweight design.
