Award for lightweight construction pantograph platform
We received one of the two SET4FUTURE Innovation Awards 2022, for our pantograph platform.
The expert panel from the fields of industry and research attested that our product has major potential for worldwide use. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that the novel pantograph platform made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is manufactured in just a single process step, by means of resin infusion.
In comparison to the reference welded metal construction made of aluminum, it is more than 30 percent lighter, up to 20 percent cheaper and improves both the sound insulation and the drive dynamics of the rail vehicle.
